Hi All,
Need 4 new tyres (down to the wear markers after 18,000 miles!). I have been recommended General GRABBER UHP 255/50 R19 107W XL , they are a US tyre which is great for summer and winter use.
Anybody heard of them, what do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance

yes i have used general grabber tyres but cant comment on performance really as never driven the cars.. no complaints though!

Sorry am confused -- you "used" them but didn't "drive" ....so what do you mean by use = buy...?

No experience of General Grabber although I associate the brand with off-road rather than on road-tyres, although I believe the UHP is road-biased.

Our W163 ML came with Continentals which lasted very well, but they are relatively expensive. Since swapped to Dunlop and they're wearing quicker but seemed to offer a marginally more comfortable ride - significantly cheaper too.

Tempted to try Pirelli next - which was my first choice last time, but a deal on the Dunlops with no wait swayed me.

Thanks all for the comments, might give the General GRABBER ago. They have got very high ratings in a couple of consumer tests.

UK tests or US tests? US data is pretty irrelevant here as their road conditions are different and tyres have different compounds there

IIRC Pirelli relaunched the Scorpion last year having developed it for 4x4s that spend most of their time on-road. It was well received

I have Continental CrossContact UHP fitted to my ML and I hae found them to be quite good. Managed to get nearly19k out of them which for me is unheard of:o
