Hello
Could anyone tell me how the silver trim parts are attached to the door card ,can they be removed with out taking the door cards off or are they fixed from behind ?

You may be able to pry them out with a small flat prying tool, however depending on the angle/ pressure applied I feel you may snap the clips. Like anything, to do the job properly you will be safer to take the door card off. This will also negate the possibility of damage to the other door finishes which the prying tool may damage/ come into contact with.

Hope this helps.

If any one is interested and in answer to my own question .
To remove the long silver coloured door trims, two on each door you do need to remove the door cards .
The larger top trim is held on using a type of nut (x4) that screws on too plastic pegs on the rear of the trim
The lower thinner trims can be prised out but the clips will possibly snap off .
The reason I needed to remove these was that mine had dents and scratches on possibly from where the seat belt was let go and flew back hitting the trim .
I bought a secondhand full set and some filler to tidy these up as they were not perfect but way better than the ones fitted .
I then used some brushed aluminium vinyl wrap and covered the trims these have now been fitted to the car and they look a lot better and really tidied up the door

Just fixing the door release on our car, correct the panel has to be removed, our problem is the fatal door release handle, broken seems its a fault, big mistake is I ordered a replacement from China, you guessed it, ages to get here, so I bought a complete panel thinking I will just swap, mistake no 2, our car is 2009 panel is 2011 different wiring no big loss as it only cost 29 quid, so decided not to strip it in case somebody may need it,so hoping post arrived tomorrow, and memsahib don't open the bloody door again,as its all disconnected.
