Can someone help me here, I want to widen the stance of the ML with top quality H&R spacers 20mm at the rear and 10mm at the front.
I've read through many US posts on this and all seems ok for me to do this, however i have also got negative feedback that altering the track of the 4x4 system will not be good...I personally think this is rubbish but i need some expert help on this..

I have also read through Rash's post from a while back and I only ever use top quality products so im not about to fit Halfords specials on my mota!

Will i get any tracking/alignment issues?

I'm simply looking for a wider look combined with my newly aquired Renntech ELM.

All constructive help welcome....

cheers Greg

Do they elaborate any further that it "not being good"?

Otherwise it sounds like unsubstantiated scaremongering.

Your gut feeling is right! You should not have any issues doing what you propose providing you use good hubcentric spacers and the correct length bolts.
The wheels will still point exactly the same way and all you are doing is changing the offset.
Whilst I have only done very minor offset changes on my ML, I have experimented with some massive offset changes (using wheels and spacers) on a certain VAG group based 4x4 with with no major down sides. The very minor offset change you propose for the front should not really effect the scrub radius or the tendency to 'track' on uneven roads... and the rear will be fine.
I've played with amounts up to 4 times what you propose....and I'm still alive:o
