ml270 cooling fan

Hi all

The cooling fan on our ml270 wasn't working for a while. The engine is so slow to overheat I didn't actually even notice for a couple of months! Looks like it was just a bad connection on the battery terminal. Just want to check this is normal though, the fan runs slow sometimes, eg when you turn the aircon on, and very occasionally runs very fast, eg if I absolutely hammer it for a few minutes. Cars I have owned in the past had one fan speed.

Hi Simon,
Completely normal!............the large single fan on the facelift ML's runs at a variable speed, from slow to fast, depending on demand from the air con system, and/or engine temperature.
