Hi, I had my car 3 weeks. Had a few problems so its back at the garage I bought it from.

The water pump is on its way out, and also one of the pulleys for the fan belt is wobbling, so they are sorting it out.

Is there anything I need to be aware if after they 'fix' the problems?

Thanks

Might be worth checking the large electrical plug that goes into the side of the gearbox, they are prone to leak atf fluid. Its a quick and cheap fix but can cause more problems if not attended to sooner than later.
Do a 'search' on the forum for more info.

I've had my ml for 9 yrs and its served me well and is one of the easiest cars i've carried out work on.

ps....... regarding the pulleys, you need to check that the alternator 'free-wheel' pulley is not seized up, if it is, it will cause the alternator belt to jump/bounce about at idle.

Second the alternator pulley. Mine went and I had to replace alternator (not cheap) there are 2 pulleys on the engine, a freewheeling one at the top, and the belt tensioner. I replaced both and for the price and convenience I would suggest it to you. You will have most of the parts off already due to the water pump change.
Also change the belt for peace of mind.

Thanks. The garage is fixing the above problems free of charge as its still under warranty.

So I'll try and fix the plug as you've stated above.

Just had my car back 3 days later than expected. O how glad am I to be back in my Mercedes. They had lent me a Lexus is200 which smelt of dog, and sick.

Problems I mentioned seem to be fixed. There is a slight noise which I presume is coming from the new belt! As its not worn in yet!

Hopefully I have a good car which will last me a few years.

I was going to suggest a new thermostat but alas I'm too late. MBs seem to have two types, faulty and not yet faulty.
