Have just purchased a 2000 ML320. Have the basic radio/cassette option in the front (ML10?) Theres no Cd changer in boot and as yet can't find the cables in there (only had the car 1 day) My questions are; are the CD cables/wiring already in place, but just tucked out of view? Should I secondly buy a Cd changer for this current radio or upgrade the radio to a single slot CD variety? Not too fussed about the having lots of CD's in car and only want to spend £200 ish.

my prefferred route....

dab radio, cd / mp3 player, sd card player, all in one - £299....

kenwood dab radio ADAPTOR is 500 quid - plus the head unit.

or get a cd changer from ebay - but you need to check the current radio for compatability. changers go for 50 - 100 quid....

Your budget really rules out MB OEM stuff like comand and Cd changer .

But if you get the urge , you will find the power connector for the CD changer tucked to the left of the cubby hole where the jack lives. Its a small 3 pin black plastic plug. Mb Cd changers need a fibre optic connection which is not there, but easy enough to fit. its unlikely the prewired CD power plug will be any good with an after market changer.

You can pick up an Audio 10 with single slot CD from Ebay for less than £100 ... Pammy had one for sale in classifieds recently .They cost £400 new

Thanks for the help guys, I suppose I could get an approved MB/OEM changer from ebay quite easily. Would the fibre optic cable (does this fit into the cable already in boot?) and bracket have to come from MB? how much are they both? Most of the changers on ebay don't come with these bits

Fibre & Brackets would need to come from MB dealer. Bracket kit recently gone up quite a bit to approx £50 now, I Fibre Optic about £150. the fibre optic needs to be run from the CDC to behind the HEad unit. the route I took was along the drivers side carpet (removing trim first!) up the door edge to behind the dash and along the kick plate & up to the head unit.
