ML420CDI(W164) GLOW PLUG CONTROL UNIT

Good afternoon all, approx 1 month ago my heater plug warnibg light came on, although it didnt affect the car in any way.

Now that its getting colder at night and mornings, the car is struggling a little, although eventually does start.

I put into Mercedes independant garage and they have diagnosed the control unit for the glow plugs being faulty, but Mercedes do not do this unit any longer. They couldnt source one from anywhere for the 8 cylinder model.

Can anyone give me an indication of where i would be able to source one, or can the unit be refurbed.

Appreciate any help. I love this car, has been solid and well looked after and i dont want to get rid off.

From the EPC it's A6291530679 (A6291530479).
There are a couple on eBay but you won't like the price.
