Anyone got a mobile with UMA?

My mobile has a very poor signal at home so I would be interested in learning more about using a mobile with UMA via my homehub (BT)

Is this possible?

Thanks.

No one?

It's not that common. To the best of my knowledge there is/was? BT Fusion in the UK,which was pre-3G technology and now I think Orange offer unik. Don't know anyone who uses it.

Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) is now called GAN (Generic Access Network). Prior to April 2005 it was known as UMA.

As mentioned above don't think there is much in this space within the UK, although it does look like a great idea.

Disadvantages are that as well as having a compatabile handset GAN / UMA also needs network support, i.e. the mobile carrier needs to have it enabled.

The only think I have come across which may help you, although it looks expensive, and relies upon you being on Vodafone is:

Vodafone Access Gateway - Vodafone
