My son has a new A-class on a three-year contract, with Mobilo cover (he thinks:rolleyes:) as part of the three-year warranty. I have a very good breakdown insurance, also covering him, which includes recovery to either home or a nominated repairer if roadside repair is not possible. Does the Mobilo cover include that, or is recovery just to the nearest MB dealer?

It doesn't answer my specific question, though. I'll call Mercedes, but I had rather hoped somebody could simply answer yes or no.

When I was a student a house mate would travel back to North Yorkshire a couple of times a year, he had some bad luck, his car would always break down 50 miles into his long journey.

The AA man could never find the fault, it was a mystery.

.

I assume I don't take that at face value, so was it to save fuel, or to shorten his time at home?

Fuel saving wheeze.
Some of my friends are not as honest as others. I have heard, long ago that when their car needed ....parts, they would hire a like cars and ' borrow ' the parts needed. At that time disconnecting the wires from the fuel gauge would make the fuel gauge read full.
Clamping the speedometer cable.... would snap the inner cable, thus rendering the speedometer and mileage done readings inaccurate.
Reporting that said readings were no longer readable solicited the question "" when did this happen " when I last filled up about roughly half a mile away was the reply.
Shocking behaviour ....

Yes you can have the car dropped anywhere you like

"We can recover your car to your home or your chosen Mercedes-Benz Retailer, anywhere in the country."

Actual small print may say more. But the implication of the above statement is MB dealer or home.

Of course you could claim to live in at your prefered independent speciailist's workshop.

They treat the onward journey separately from the vehicle recovery. So the implication is that they will assist you to continue your journey to a destination location and they will recover the car to a different location.
