Put the 190 in for a pre MOT check and got a couple of advisory notes.
It was the wife that picked up the car so I never got a chance to ask exactly where the problems are but are listed as:

All rear brake hose ferrule excessively corroded

Nearside front steering idler steering pivot point has excessive play

I'm guessing 2 rear flexible brake hoses(pipes at rear axle have been replaced) and a steering idler bush kit. Does anybody know better? It's the first time the car has needed any work for an MOT so I can't complain too much

TIA

MOT advisories

I'd say that's the sign of an MOT tester who knows what he's doing. Corroded brake pipes/fittings are a typical MOT failure here by the coast and worn steering idlers are common on W124s, so 190s are probably just the same

Replacing the idler makes a big difference to the way the car drives, I'm told. While you're in there check the front balljoints, springs and replace the antiroll bar bushes. Might as well do the front pads while you're at it!
