It's Action Pack renewal time.....

What's the forum opinion on Action Pack or Tech Net Plus ?

Both cost about the same, but as I see it, you get more software with Technet, but more marketing stuff with Action Pack (does anyone use this, does it help) ?

Used to have a MAP Subscription but have switched to TechNet/MSDN with the download option. The marketing fluff is just that, a few nice glossy folders to show customers and DVD's of how to find the right M$ solution for your circumstances. The beta software (and info) is far better from TechNet the licence agreements vary slightly - I have some TechNet disks with full licences while MAPS is soley NFD.

EDIT:Also MAPS now has its annoying subscription renewal "test" (to stop customers simply getting all their software for "free") which is an additional PITA - even though you can easily score 70% without looking at the marketing manual.

Also if you cancel MAPS remember you are required to destroy all your media and CD-Keys

TechNet, MSDN is a much better resource from a technical perspective, and from downloads point.

If you can get a MS premier account that is really good. We have one at work which provides access to everything we need.

We get the entire MS catalogue sent every quarter as part of our select licensing.

Every 12 months we declare our usage and get billed accordingly. One giant honesty box. :)

You're slightly larger than my company......
