I've had a few warnings showing (abs and traction control) over the last week but haven't driven the car (c200 w205) hardly as I've been swamped with work and not managed to pop to the garage.

I went to pop round to the shop earlier and now I'm getting the following warnings on dash.

Left dash panel
- Traction Control (orange light)

Right dash panel
- Engine Management (orange light)
- ABS (orange light)
- Parking brake (orange light)

Middle dash panel (warnings flick through)
- inoperative (see manual) - orange
- Collision Prevention Assist inoperative - orange
- Parking brake (see manual) - red

When I turned on the engine and those came up, I tried to disengage the parking brake and a red warning appears saying 'release parking brake' and there's a grinding from the engine area.

After about 30 seconds, I turned the engine off as it sounded like a jet taking off. For about 20 seconds after turning off the engine and locking the car, the fans were still pretty loud then eventually they went off.

Really strange that it's all happened at the one time, anyone experienced anything similar or have an idea on what would be causing the issue?

Thanks

Also noticed the steering weights a ton when I moved it out the drive. Also rear camera has stopped working when it's in reverse.

Hello and welcome . + 1 for the 'dodgy battery(ies)' theory. Get them checked , how old are they ? what year is the car ?

2015 reg, the batteries were replaced in November 2020. So surely can't be that. I was thinking it was an electrics/sensor fault somewhere as they all pretty much came on around the same time (besides the parking brake issue), which pushed me to the issues being connected.

Dodgy battery or ur alternator is frying them. Or water ingress into modules/wiring, Something else I have come across which kicks up all these kind of problems all at once is after market DRL lights or aftermarket LED bulbs. Might sound stupid but ive had aftermarket DRL's fry an AUX battery on a customers car and also a rear heated window shatter due to an aftermarket rear middle extra brake light.
