Hi all. Ive been a member of many owners forums across a lot of marques over the the years. Have been hanging around here for a couple months now during the process of buying my first car as a father and a couple of weeks ago i opted for a 2013 facelift S204 AMG Sport and i love it!

A P0299 fault has arisen in the last couple days but I'll get that addressed in the next week or two.
There is a lot of info on here about it so am awaiting delivery of new MAP and Boost sensor. If neither fix it, it'll go in for smoke/pressure test and I'll take it from there.

I like to make a couple of 'personalisation' touches to my cars so will be on the look out for some low key upgrades/mods in the coming months........I know each to their own 😉 any that you guys know about, let me know!

Currently listed:
Wrapped front lower lip and mirrors
Refurb of stock 17's in anthracite grey
Rear privacy glass
Caliper and wheel hub cosmetic refurb
A full 'the works' detail to bring the paint back to life!

Welcome. Good choice....

Are you also considering infotainment and audio system upgrades?

maybe even a trip to GAD for a remap! Saw one of their threads just recently where they'd taken a 220 to over 200BHP!

@markjay I have considered them. Seen the Android replacement system, that looks good but not sure I like the 'in your face' screen. I like the EM in the dash look.

I've not got NAV but not sure if it's worth buying the module. Is it any good or does it look dated?

Apple and Android Play would be no.1 choice

A remap is defo on the cards, after fixing any issues and a good service 👍

Email your VIN to comand.co.uk so they can look up the build sheet for what the car left the factory with, they can then advise you on your choices for nav, android Auto, Apple etc. They're not only MB ICE etc specialists (and sponsors of this forum) but also ICE specialists (Unique Car Sound & Security – Car Electronics Specialists), so can supply and fit as well as advise. However, they're about 2 miles from J3 M3 which would be a bit of a hike form the Midlands!

Thanks @Chrishazle, I'll give them a shout.

Distance is no matter. I brought the car from a fair way down south and needed 2 trips in 2 days to get it. At least I knew it was fine after a 200 mile drive back!

As the OP has stated location as the Midlands, MSL are very handy and can do a similar remap to GAD.

Unless it's already been remapped as a mate once found out saying remapping is rubbish and doesn't make a difference , lol .

Depending on make of dyno and operator , figures can vary wildly as can the detail..

I've found a few places that reflect my own results and deemed 'the truth' .

GAD is one of them .

Sorry not a S205 but identical engine ?

I think the S205 C220 is comparable to the S204 facelift but not the pre-facelift S204. I was annoyed when I bought my 2008 pre facelift C220 S204 that the emissions took it into a far higher RF bracket than I was expecting, the post facelift has much lower emissions so is over £100pa cheaper on RF!

I've had a lot of VAG cars mapped previously with some great gains.
I'm not looking for a Stage 3+ machine, those days have gone, but a few additional ponies would be nice!

I might contact MSL about a full service & remap package.

So boost pressure sensor changed and still have P0299 fault. I wasn't holding my breath that 1 sensor change would work tbh but one can hope.

Got new MAP sensor on the way. I don't mind spending on these as even if it's neither that are at fault, piece of mind is worth what they cost IMO.

Next will be to get under and inspect the in intercooler pipework. May buy new ones before taking them off for inspection and just replace anyway.

Am I right in thinking it's soft hose air box to turbo, turbo to cooler and cooler out then hard pipe up to TB?
Is it likely to be the hard pipe though really?

So I'll out this thread to bed with a resolution

Went to see the guys down at MSL and spent the day there playing pool, watching the RR and checking out the quickest E63S beast!!

Result was indeed split pipe. Intercooler exit pipe (TB side) has 3 slits that only opened up under pressure. All fixed and now it's back to normal.

Downside is, I now want an MSL remap to try and get back to the 200+ club 🙈
