Finally after 2 years of trolling Pistonheads, Autotrader and the forums, I have finally found the W215 I have been looking for. Almandine Black with Black leather. ABC pump replaced 1 year ago. 10k of receipts and 3 owners for 4k.

MPG range from 11mpg around town heavy footed to 32mpg on a motorway run at 70mph.

A couple of electrical faults. Tape player drive doesnt move. I only realised this when I bought an iphone adapter that uses the tape deck. CD drive occasionally will not accept the satnav DVD and the heating controls display is unreadable. Everything else works perfectly so far. Fingers crossed it will stay that way for a few months at least. I expect the first investment will be new rear tires and a pair of ball joints at the front as they are originals probably.

The engine sounds great but i will be upgrading the exhaust as the V8 rumble is only audible under hard acceleration.

The only other upgrade will be a set of MAE alloys.

Wish me luck!

That looks like a nice motor. Fantastic engine in it as well.

Welcome the CL Club.

That is my favourite MB Colour. Unfortunately it never came as standard on the the 55 Kompressor.so i managed to find the next best, Tanzanite Blue. Like yourself, after a very long search. Most are Silver or black.

Good news that the ABC has been sorted out. We need the full spec, mileage year etc, etc. I see it's a pre-face lift.

Enjoy.

Im pretty sure it has every extra. I originally wanted a facelift model but i was looking at an extra 2k on the purchase price and an extra 30k on the clock so decided this was the better deal in the end. I can buy the updated rear cluster but probably wont bother.

I will own this for a year then upgrade to the kompressor because that is a totally different animal and the one everyone wants. I would take the 55 over the 600 any day.

Congrats!
Still miss my e class that was in that colour.

Let me know if you want to part with the wheels after your MAE upgrade...

The navigation drive is a weak spot on the old COMAND 2.0/2.5 units but can often be sorted with a "head cleaning" CD. Worst case it will eventually need to be sent off for a repair but this is usually < £100 IIRC.

Great car BTW!

No Distronic.
