My missus discovered what was causing it so I forgive her for all the times I have found apple cores and Asda receipts in the passenger door cubby hole !

The rattle I had quite frankly wsa so annoying I'd sort of given up with the car. On it's recent MOT I asked MB to have a look if it may be a suspension problem but they said all ok. I've had the rear headrests out and applied duck tape and blue tac to no avail.

On the way up to Whitby on Friday we were getting some stuff out of the boot and Jenny noticed the warning triangle had a loose section. One of the fluorescent strips had a lug missing so it was loose at one end.

A piece of blue tac later and no more rattle !!!

The car now seems to drive so much better now :)

So that's two things lost at the weeked....the annoying rattle :) and my bonnet star :(

LOL...

So do you still need to change the car now?

Rattles really wind me up,too.
Mrs Esox used to think i was insane thumping dash/console/doors etc trying to locate elusive irksome noises......
Got a W123 now though; rattle(and stress!)-free.

No but I wouldn't mind the C320 CDI next.

Tha'ts a nice move. I wonder what the 420 would be like in the C55 chassis.
