N73 mileage thru star reads as

Current odometer - 999999.4m
Last stored reading 61000m
Next to last reading 60345m

Current dash reading is 53000m,i bought with 51000m on clock.

An indie has read these, I'm attempting to reject car but garage aint budging, next stop is gonna be main dealer to confirm and write report.

Its a minefield out there, I take it the car has been clocked.

You don't appear to be asking a question?

I'm questioning whether the car has been clocked in the first post, how can a car with 53000m on the clock have a current odometer reading of 999999.4m with previous logged mileage 61k and 60k?

If star diags have revealed a mileage different to the mileometer, then one or the other is the true reading, highly likely the mileage correction boys have done their stuff though,or it's had a s/h ECU & EIS fitted.

what does the service history say? along with the mot history?

MOT's tally / SH a little sketchy. Had a service May 2014 @ 53k,MOT Sept 2014 46k, was told service mileage was an omission error when it was looked into.

Why would a s/h ECU / EIS throw up 999999.4m plus two previous entries higher that current mileage?

Its in next week at dealer, been told to request a 'CAN gateway flash' and all will be revealed apparently??

Car went into Merc, they confirmed it had been clocked. They cross referenced EIS with ECU a report stated...

Data on mileage travelled was implausible.

Garage has since taken car back for a full refund.

Good result. A lucky escape for you.

What's the betting the car is back on sale soon with same mileage showing:rolleyes:

Possibly?

For the record I stumbled across the issue by pure fluke, I had a guy with star do some diagnostics on possible eis fault, I q uizzed him about the mileage, he checked and found the issue.

All MOT'S / SH stacked up mileage wise to some extent.

Once you receive your refund, you will of course contact Trading Standards with the facts, I hope.

Trading standards were involved from the start, they've got all info etc .Suspect the first and only owner is the guilty party.

Hi where do you look in star to find milage records and do most mercedes store this ?
