please read my other posts, the story so far, ive since changed the fuel filter, removed the pump from the tank cleaned it,put it all back, started it , it spluttered, i primed it , run great, felt like a different car, the next day on cold start, same problem, wont fire up, until so many cranks the batterys dead,
Ive replaced
1 bosch mass air
2 checked for air leaks
3 cleaned the erg tube
4 new coolent temp switch
5 new crank sencer switch
the next thing is a hand grenade,
had it on numerous machines no faults when warm,

please help

hi telle its not a diesel its a 1998 320 petrol

I must buy some new eyes when I am out shopping :)

Can you remove an injector and look at the spray pattern.

Is there a spark ? Can the camhaft sensor do it. the MAF has nothing to do with cold starting, The EGR valve would cause lumpy idle, A faulty O2 sensor ???

I will take a look on the MB faults later in the day,

please help

ive read the 02 sencers are bypassed on cold start up.

I have been through every thing and nothing else,, without knowing if the spark is there and ite fueling OK via the injectors there is not anything elde left

please help

There seems to be alot of pressure in the fuel rail, even more so with the new fuel filter fitted?

fuel

checked the fuel rail today no pressure, im only getting 5 volts to the fuel pump, this must be the problem, sometimes i must be getting the correct voltagem sometimes im not, any idears?
ml 320 1998.

fuel

yes ive checked the plug socket to the pump im only getting 5 vols with the key in position 2

You must do the test with the meter connected to a good ground point and test with the + lead to see what is on either terminal if you have a plus reading on both then the ground is poor or faulty on pump wiring
