Need some expert advice

I tried it in both (valves open and closed) and the same thing happened.
I currently have a garage here in Phuket removing the titanium exhaust and installing the original MB exhaust. If the problem goes away then I will know that this engine doesn't like the new exhaust and I will try and sell the titanium exhaust. If the problem is still there I will take the car to Mercedes Benz and have them troubleshoot and fix the problem under warranty. Then make my mind up if I want to install it or not.
I will keep you posted on the outcome

Neil
Good luck.

could the standard exhaust have a Co2 sensor before and after the CAT that has been missed off, on the new exhaust.. so the computer has no data on post cat co2?

Okay so I went to pick up my car this morning with the original exhaust reinstalled........instantly in your face the car felt differently, I took it onto the highway and floored it taking it from say 60 kph to 220 kph, I did this at least half a dozen times and no problems at all, the car felt very responsive and great to drive.
I will now try and sell the titanium exhaust
Thanks for everyone's feedback

Neil

I think what you've determined here is that the engine management cannot accommodate the reduced back pressure. The data it's getting from its sensors aren't within the expected parameters. So a remapper would need to get in there and tweak some thresholds to make that exhaust work.

Glad you've got a properly working car again!

I thought about that but happy to have my car back to the original spec

Just a shame you spend all that money.
I'm not done quite yet, Today my car is going in for its 10k (kilometres) first service. On Monday I am going to have the Titanium exhaust reinstalled but this time without the open/close valves in the mufflers (valves will be permanently locked in the open position). I am hoping that by doing this will solve the issue with the car going into limp mode. I have been talking with an ECU tuning shop in Bangkok and he thinks that there could be an issue with the software/hardware used to manipulate the opening and closing of the valves in the exhaust............I should know by Monday afternoon if that has solved the car going into limp mode and if it does can I then live with the exhaust wide open.......we will see on Monday.
