Need the part number!!!

Well i was about to buy the spark plug cover for my c230k but it didnt have the "Kompressor" written on it, it was just red. Now the dealer explained to me that the only way that they could gete me that part is if i find someone with that engine and quote their VIN number, OR quote the part number for the spark plug cover.

Can anyone lend a hand?

I just walk around the MB outlet till I find the one and take the number from the VIN on the screen

They are talking BS, all they need is to put a small amount of effort into using EPCnet and they will find it.

According to EPC the one for mine (1999 C230K) is A111 150 1075

It is in EPC under Electrical system - Ignition System - page 8

Go back to the dealer and tell him to look there.

Hmmm i called the dealer quoting the number you gave me right there, and it came up with the cover that i already have, that is the one with nothing written on it. Its blank and red in colour.

The one i want is red in colour, and it has "Kompressor" written on it.

Mine has Kompressor on it and it is red. Can't do it today but I will pop it off and have a look when I can.

Why don't you contact Mercman in Southampton and see if you can get a decent secondhand one from there ?

Yep....one of them is up to a certain engine number and the other is after a certain number according to EPG.

With a VIN number, your dealer should really be able to sort this out.
