New 16" 8-holes on my W124 Coupe

Hi Guys
I have fitted some 16x7.5 8 hole alloys to my coupe, I prefer the 16's over the 15's. The ride hasnt been too affected by the larger rims.

They look superb, should have been standard IMHO. What tyre size are you running with them?

Would be interested to hear of any speedo changes and possible increase in fuel economy???

Note that both of the Cabs have speedos that over read by 6 km/h, to me this further reinforces the theory that these cars should have had these from new.

I doubt you will get a better economy unless the tyre width is reduced.

I took it from bournemouth to Devon (Camelford) at the weekend and did a tank of fuel for the return trip approx 300miles. Speeds were 80mph avaerage on motorway, occaisional stuck behind farm machinery and caravans which were despatched ASAP with ease.

Tyres are 215 x 55 x 16 which were as close I could get to the original 195 x 65 x 15. Speeds on the Satnav compared to the speedo 80mph (satnav 78 mph)

looks great, i'll be fitting the 15" wheels on Friday to my E320 estate, won't look quite as good though. Thanks also for the from speakers what a difference in sound quality.

They look lovely.... Was something I always wanted to do with my Cab, but I went with the whole AMG thing in the end...

I did get hold of a set of 17x8 Brabus' alloys that are extremely similar to the Mercedes 8-hole design that I still got stashed away in the garage..... keeping them for the right car to put them on like a C124 or maybe even a R107 SL.....
