New Battery MUST be purchased from MB

Avatar is great, but the signature picture is surely upside down (top surfaces are not normally in shadow)?!

You've got me there. The signiture photo is simply inverted!

I DO fly inverted alot, but getting 'In flight' photos are as rare as hens teeth, so I cheated! Well spotted :thumb:

The Avatar I took with my camera phone flying inverted. I held the stick in the right hand and the phone in the left, desperately trying to get a shot that included the ground behind me. Not easy!

I love taking folk up.

First fill it with fuel

Then strap your victim in

Then turn them upside down

Easy :)

Cheers,
Robert

Very nice! Unusual colour scheme too.

Always had a soft spot for Pitts ever since seeing the Rothmans display team as a lad.

PS don't recall seeing spades on Pitts ailerons before - are those a mod.?

Yes I saw the Rothmans display team as a kid too. At Shuttleworth, Old Warden. I believe Brian Lecomber was flying. Amazingly skilful.

The spades are mods and really help lighten the load on the stick.

My Pitts S2A is one of only three in the UK that is on a Kit Built 'Permit to Fly' licence, rather than on a regular factory built CAA (now EASA) licence.
That makes it a rare bird indeed as I can modify it all I want, with permission of course, whilst the standard factory built Pitts have to be completely standard - hence you not seeing spades on them :thumb:

As a result, I do all the maintenance work myself, (then have it checked by an inspector). This saves literally thousands of pounds a year, and makes it viable for me to operate and fly the a/c as a single owner, rather than one of a small group of pilots sharing high running costs; (Aviation workshop labour prices - worse than MB's !)

Anyway, it's amazing fun to throw around the sky at up to 200mph, and after 6 years of ownership, currently for sale! £60K, one careful owner!

Cheers,
Robert

Just to pick up on a point made earlier about Mobilo. If the car won't start and Mobilo suggest a non OE battery is to blame you'll be charged for the callout ?

Think I might need to do a risk assessment to ensure no other non OE parts have been fitted by a previous owner.

Yes, that's what Mobilo told me.
