New boy

Hi, I have only recently discovered this forum but have now registered, I have an E300 turbodiesel (1998) with 110k in silver and not a lot rust, this is not my first Merc I have owned a 1966 220S Fintail in the past, sold it many years ago for silly money (bout 2 pints in todays money) and now wished I had kept it.

I say I am a "new boy" but insurance is from Saga so don't ask, and I live in the Midlands.

Car before this was a Vectra diesel , in all honesty not too bad till the pump went, sold on with almost 200k on the clock and still running strong with 700 quids worth of new pump, it was nothing like the comfort and power I have now though.

I have a history in the motor trade and in transport so I may be able to assist others at some point I hope.

Apologies for the long post but I tried to get it all out of the way in one go.

Hi, thanks to all, I am in the Walsall area.

Not much rust I think because the guy who had it before me said he had remedial work done not long ago, rear wheel arches on the inside and front wings, just wished it had leather as well.

I had a stainless exhaust made at a firm in Walsall for my C220, they did a fantastic job of it, & quite cheap.

I had a stainless exhaust made at a firm in Walsall for my C220, they did a fantastic job of it, & quite cheap.

Must be MIJ performance centre, if it is I have had dealings with them in the past both bad and good, good on exhaust fabrication - bad on other stuff they do.
