Hi Everyone,

Another newbie joining the ranks. I actually signed up awhile back upon ordering my Mercedes to just get some general info on the car and have found myself scouring the forum for new posts before going to bed at night lol

This is my 1st post now that I can say that I am a "proud" owner of a Mercedes Benz. Had abit of a mare getting the car due to a horrendous catalogue of errors but never the less this hasn't dampened the exciting feeling of having a new car on the drive.

I finally collected my 66 plate c250d premium plus saloon on Tuesday and have now already covered 300miles in it and can happily say I am over the moon. My options were either a c class, 5 series, A6 or a jag XF and for me personally I couldn't be happier with the choice I made and I feel the car has met all my expectations at present.

I would post some pics of the car but I'm aware that I have to have posted a certain number of times, so as soon as I hit that target I'll get some pics up so you can see my pride and joy.

This is a great forum and now I can officially say that I am part of the merc community.

Cheers

Welcome and enjoy your new car.

Welcome to MB onership H. Your car sounds wonderful. Looking forward to seeing some pics as and when possible.

Cheers guys thanks for the warm welcome! I think I've done this right so hopefully the link works and you can see the new addition to the family, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but each to there own I guess, the kids and the Mrs love it, and I'm over the moon so that's the main thing..

That looks proper stunning. First one I've seen with the night pack. Much better with the black belt-line strip as opposed to the chrome.

The ILS is amazing, so good on unlit country roads.

No wonder you're over the moon with it. I wish you many happy miles in it.

Looks amazing ...... Makes me really want though !! :wallbash:

Are those Wheels and Grill standard now ?
How is the ride with the wheels/low profile tyres ?
Did you opt for the Night Package to get the Tinted Windows ?

What car did you come from ? How do you find the difference ?

Well done m8 ! :thumb:

I think:

The wheels are the optional 19's
The grill comes with the night pack.

Please don't remind me I should've got a white Merc instead of black. That looks stunning. Enjoy it and keep it clean!

Thanks guys appreciate all you kind words! There's a lot of white cars out there at present, I just wanted mine to be subtly different hence the idea of contrasting white and black. As for the questions Ant's right..

Wheels were an optional extra I chose, they are the 19" Multispoke AMG option.

The trim is the night edition just literally dechromed the car and the wing mirrors as I'm led to believe they would've been white otherwise.

The ride is fine not harsh in my opinion on those wheels but I'm probably biased, saying that my previous car was a Honda Civic type r so the ride is a marked improvement over that lol

I Just installed a 2 channel blackvue dash cam with the power magic pro unit today, never had a dashcam before but I thought it's better to be safe than sorry, I opted for the blackvue as it's quite sleek and you can't notice it behind the rear view mirror, out of sight out of mind, need to check the quality of recording tomorrow.

Thanks once again, I'm glad you all like the car, at least I can now say to the Mrs my taste isn't all that bad lol

Did you install yourself? If so would love a 'how I did it' might save me a few pounds

Hiya bob,

I did indeed install it myself I brought the unit and asked a few 'qualified' car electricians and was quoted £100+ for a professional hardwire install and no cable visibility, to me I couldn't justify that cost so I did it myself.

I'm no expert but trust me never pay for anyone to do this job it's simple!!!

All wires are hidden in the interior trim and the power magic pro is wired to the fuse box in the boot, I know there a various fuse boxes in the car but this was the easiest for in terms of hiding the power magic pro. I've got a bit of cable tiding to do in the boot but apart from that it was a piece of cake.

I'm slightly busy this weekend sisters 40th birthday so got a bit of a family event on, but I will do a write up of how to install this front and rear dash cam if it helps any of you guys.

Sharing knowledge is the key which is one of the reason we're all on here. Give me a few days and I'll get on it.

Regards
H

Hiya,

Planning on doing it tomorrow. I've taken the photos to help with the guide just need to do the write up. Hopefully I'll make it clear as mud to understand lol

I think:

The wheels are the optional 19's
The grill comes with the night pack.

:dk:
There's no mention of the grill on the Mercedes site - Is this a brand new feature of the Night Pack ?
Also
If you choose the 19 inch wheels,it removes the Night Pack ?

Hiya,

I think I can shed some light onto these queries for you. Firstly the diamond grill as far as I'm aware is not available as an option on the c class saloon it is however available on the new c class coupe.

I was able to get the diamond grill fitted to my car as an aftermarket part so I purchased the grill and got it fitted on my own accord as I felt this gave the car a better overall look. Please bare in mind if doing this replacing the front grill will entail your front bumper being completely removed.

Secondly the night pack and the AMG wheels this was an combined option I chose through my lease company at a cost of £908 so I'm at at a loss as to why you are unable to chose these options together. I placed my order in March 2016 so I doubt the options list would have changed greatly. Please see the link below to the option I chose it is highlighted blue..
