Mercedes C Class Sport 2012
Hey everyone, new here and already liking the site.

Right, I took delivery of my new Mercedes C Class Sport last Thursday and realised Mercedes did the "switcharoo" on the Bi-xenons to the memory package.

The question I am hoping you can answer is if it is possible to have the LED DLR's on at night with the dipped beam? I know with the Bi-Xenons you can but doesnt seem to be with the halogen headlamps.

Appreciate any help.

Sorry I can't answer your question, I am sure someone will be along who can help.

I am presuming this was a new order for a 2012 my car. If so did you know they were switching ils for memory?

No I didnt know they were switching the packages around. What seems to have happened is that they secured my vehicle from a location in the UK. So it was built and shipped but in storage?

Not sure what to do, really wanted the xenons due to the cornering system and LED DRL's. Oh well hope there is some sort of fix.

This is a no-cost option when ordered from new. If you didn't ask for it, and don't want it, then you should reject the car and get another ordered. Retrofitting the Bi-xenons is not really an option on a car under warranty

Yeah I was looking at the extras online and came across the xenons for memory seats. To be honest I would have loved the xenons put the interior memory seats is actually pretty great.

If only there was a way to get the DRL's on with the halogens. I believe its a coding thing, mercedes are stupid sometimes, if your gonna change the headlamps at least keep everything else the same!

You think forcing you to spend £1500 on upgrade headlamps so you get cornering lamps is stupid.

Seems like a great profit making marketing ploy to me.

I meant in terms of aesthetics, the idea of having the DRL's on with the headlamps. The cornering system is amazing, that is a great profit making ploy.

I mean its a sport model, so effectively there are no fog lights, as with the Sport version you get Bi-xenons with the DRL's at 50% at night which work like fog lights. But with normal headlamps on sport no fog lights. Odd me thinks.

MB ran out of Intelligent Light Systems so cars built in late Jan/early Feb had the memory pack instead. It was only temporary so that MB could still make Sports! Where did you buy the car from?

would have loved to get bi-xenons on mine too but opted for the comfort of elegance

Agreed on the profit making opportunity, but the ILS is rather more than just cornering lights. Having driven through the dark winter months with an ILS-equipped car (standard fit, not a cost option), I wouldn't willingly go back to "ordinary" headlamps.

I would agree with that sentiment.

+1 Not something that was near the top of my wishlist but as they came as standard I didn't complain. And now I've used them I'd need to think seriously about ever going back.
