Hi all well after a few hours on the internet i found the mb (u.k version) forum. I recently brought a clk230 w208 from salvage spent time and money souhting out the body work puting on some 19 brabus replica and a comand unit that i will be attempting to fit this weekend.
Every thing was going well till the problems started, i would really appreciate some help. In order of importance
1ST problem:
My windscreen wiper was fine for first few days and know just dosnt work at all (the fuses are fine)
2nd i cant seem to get my cruise control to work i click it and set limit but it decelerates? am i doing something wrong? (dont have manual) I could realy do with some help as im pulling my hair out, oh and ill post a few pics very soon. Thanks all

You'd be well advised to try and buy a manual for the car. I think they come up on ebay from time to time.

Cruise control might not work because of the overly large wheels fitted to your car. Is the rolling radius the same as that of the standard wheels and tyres?

There are numerous threads on repairing the single wipers (like used on the W208), so a bit of searching the forums - via the search function - should help.

Good luck with the COMAND install and welcome to the forum. :)

Sorry, I don't have any info to give. However, when you bought the car from salvage, was there alot of repairs needed?

Hi thanks for the infoi, i had to change the bonnet, both bumper anf front and reay lights drivers side only

Hiya .. sounds like you are using the limiter function rather than the cruise control.

To use cruise, make sure the button on end of the stalk is NOT pressed in and that LIM does NOT show in the display.

Then, get to the speed you want, and flick the stalk either up or down - this will set your speed. Push the stalk away from you, or hit the brake pedal to cancel cruise, and pull stalk towards you to resume the set speed.

The LIM function is an additional feature which stops you from accelerating over a certain speed - but nothing to do with the cruise control - you can't use one at the same time as the other.

Can't help with the other problems, I'm afraid, but hope that helps a bit !

Assuming you tried all of the above and are still having the same issues then I would look seriously into replacing the front fuse box (SAM).

In newer cars the front fuse box controls the lights, wipers and cruise. If your daylight detector doesnt work (if you have one) then its more and more likely.

The wipers also dont work if the hood closed switch is defective or the bump stops are wound up too high and the switch is not closed.

it had been jumped with 4 wires into another relay and only top speed would work and i case whilst over a speedhump the wire fell out nd i had nothing. I need some seriouse help with my comand i have no idea which wires i connect fron the canbus to the main wires. I cut the plastic divide and it looks great in. Will post pics up this weekend.
