Well here is my Euro's worth.
I like turbo diesels and currently have two but, for the time being at least, I am done with considering new Turbo diesels as possible replacements. Not an MB thing but overall.
In order to jump through the EU 5a hoops we are pushing the limits of existing diesel technology. Come Septemebr 2011 enter EU5b, followed by the EU6 standard in 2014.
Now it may settle down of course but both Ford and Toyota are also having problems with some of their newer Turbo diesel engines.
So, now considering nothing other than normally aspirated petrol engines. (BTW my son has a 2.0L Focus Mk I estate which after a bit of fettling drives very well!)
