Now forgive me if there are some of you who've seen loads of these, but for me this was my first physical sighting of a new XK convertible, so I took a couple of mobile-phone snaps in case there were others here in the same boat.

Like the press articles and other reviewers have said, this is a car you have to see in the metal to fully appreciate. While nobody could call the old XK an ugly car, this new one is genuinely beautiful and it's simplicity of design really impresses. Old ladies, teenage kids, traffic wardens and mums pushing prams were giving this baby a second look, while other perfectly nice cars (a new S-class in silver, a lovely Range Rover Sport and my CLS, no less!) were being completely ignored.

Not the best photos I know, but the owner was waiting to get back into his car and I was reluctant to take the p*ss.

I used to see one every about two months ago day in the village but I don't see it now.
It did look really good..

That was my precise opinion when I first saw pictures of the new model in several magazines. I don't think the pics (or the colour of the car) show it in it's best light, but I'm fairly sure you'll be surprised when you see one in person. I won't bet any money on it though...

It's a 2 megapixel Sony Ericsson D750. Nothing too special in design terms, but it's actually the best mobile phone I've had to date. As for the image quality........ well I'm spoilt by "proper" kit when I'm taking serious shots, but for phone pics I don't suppose they're too bad :D
