New model C Class Sport Plus saloon

A slight update is I have submitted my Paperwork to the Police and should receive a phone call from a traffic officer in the very near future. I don't hold out much hope, but you never know. I am the victim after all.

Car drives well, although it feels a little floaty in normal mode, sort of like it has firm springs but soft dampers. I ordered the dynamic handling pack so I assume that's how it's meant to feel. Also sometimes the there is a little shunt (not the Van driver this time :D) when you come back on the power after freewheeling for a bit. But the car is starting to free up nicely and I can't wait for the chance to give it some of those beans people like to give their cars :) The stop start works well as does the stereo :)

magnetite - has a slight blue in different light - mine is obsidian black
That's right (see the pics of my car), and in other lights it takes on a green tinge. But it only happens in the sunshine, so I've only seen mine as black for the last few weeks!

I haven't noticed a "floaty" feel to mine that has the same spec, but I haven't come directly from an Audi. Neither do I detect anything other than total smoothness when coming back on the power after zero throttle. But, and perhaps it's me being fussy, I'm not so keen on the feel when the engine starts again after an Eco stop. It all happens very quickly but the "kerchunk" takes the edge off an otherwise superb car.

Don't like how they've de-specced the Sport.

They've not really, they just call it "Sport Plus" now. The spec and prices for Sport Plus are nearly identical to the 'old' Sport.

And in fairness, taking the cosmetics on one side, the "Sport" really only lacks the Intell. lighting compared to the "Plus"....

Sorry to hear about your incident Amanda, hope that gets sorted, car does look good. Good choice .

Well I was told the police would contact me today........................but they haven't :(

I'm assuming it's the Met? I wouldn't hold your breath, even more so with the Olympics coming up.
It is the Met. I am now back home in Manchester and have some paperwork from the RAC legal services (I guess the fee 7 day MB cover triggered it) So my next problem is I still don't have a day off for 3 weeks, so can't even get an estimate for respray :(

I forgot about that. Is the excess on the 7 day cover not horrendous?

From what i can tell the sport is the same as it was before the sport plus came along other than intel light as you say? Is that right? The sport plus just has some extra trimmings?

I got clipped by a hit and run driver in London. Got his reg but he drove off, I chased his van down and blocked him off, screamed at him that the car was brand new and he kept saying his van was too (it was actually a battered 02 plate) before reversing around me and my car and driving off without giving me his details.

What Bad luck.
Did you manage to get a picture of the driver?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't hold out much hope of the Police pursuing this and apprehending the driver.

You *might* be able to have your legal assistance further it with the van drivers insurance company directly, as you have the registration number.

Other than the slight uniqueness now, your car looks great, I like the interior. Are the seat and door panels, suede or alcantara?

Yep. Lights and (18") wheels externally, alcantara trim and red stitching and belts internally.

Doesn't sound that much but then the premium isn't that big, and it does add up to more "presence" imo....

I am not too fussed about the interior bits, my main concern was that side by side a sport and a sport plus will look the same from the outside, subject to wheel choice. I have ordered a sport with the 18" 7 spoke wheels so provided the bodykits are the same and the sport hasnt been watered down from what it was before i'm cool with it!

I say i've ordered it, changes at work mean it hasnt actually been submitted so i could change it if i wanted!

The excess is £250. I have the mans reg (a photo) and he is registered and insured with Aviva. The van was stickered up as Master Windows and the accident happened where Greyhound Lane meets the A23. If anyone sees the big white Ford Transit in that area, please take a photo of the black scratches on it pleas :D

I was in the similar situation as you - i had order wentt in to order the sports coupe months ago bu then was convinced to wait and get the sports plus by friends and the dealer and i think made the right choice - there are slight changes externally - the alloys , spoiler , lights side mirrors and the grill is black (and also the grey slats are black if you have the amg handling package as extra)

Drive wise (as mine has the dynamic package) not much difference i've noted but only test drove the normal sport twice. Both are great!

i do like the cosmetic finish and would definitely recommend inspecting the new sports plus inside and out esp now as there are many in showrooms now to compare to the prior sport - at the time i had placed my order there weren't any just a computer screen and some graphics and had to use faith and my imagination!lol

Just seen a white Sport Plus and it looks great. Although it had the Red seat belts, which I don't like too much. But the wheels suit it :) If anyone wants to see one in the Manchester area, they have it at the Ashton Road dealerships and I am sure the lovely Matthew Ryan would be able to help (great salesman to deal with :) )

Visited parents a week back and came out and watched neighbor bump into my back bumper while parking - he looked at me with worry as the pure anger was visible and the mrs had to calm me down but luckily there was no damage and a very apologetic neighbor

Nice...

Thanks for the pictures, ordered a c350 sport plus a couple of weeks back in diamond silver. Delivery is due beginning of September. :)
Sorry to hear about the damage, really dreading anything like that.
I'm doing a full protection detail on it so it's off the road for a couple of days as soon as its delivered.
