Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311 CDi & Vito 111 CDi
I've been trying to order a new-shape extra-long Merc Sprinter 311 CDi from local dealers, but I've been quoted 4 to 5 months lead time!!! So I've been looking around for a nearly-new one. My mate told me about a used van dealer who has had a few new shape sprinters in stock, including an extra-long one. Their website is www.maunmotors.co.uk or the stock list page with all of the sprinter vans and vito vans they've got in stock is http://www.maunmotors.co.uk/stock/mercedes_benz_sprinter_vito_stock.asp

I'm very tempted by the "56" plate extra-long one with 21,758 miles - looks in mint condition.

Anyone know of anywhere else in Midlands area worth trying?

Have you looked on the M-B website? They have a used van search on there.

I ordered a Vito on April 20th and it got to the dealership at the end of August ... so 4 months sounds about right.

Apparently there's a 9 month waiting list for Transits at the moment.

Vans are a nightmare at the moment.
I wanted 2 Transit Connects and I was told 3 months, I enquired about a Transit and was told anything between 7 - 10 months.
I ended up ordering 2 Renault Kangoos and even they have a 2 month wait.

Sprinter is in high demand and only few stock vehicles are available that are either in silly colours i.e. red or not the correct model/engine size that you would require and wont be to the exact specification you want. Factory orders are on about a 3 month lead time.

I ordered a new transit 330 hi roof lwb at the start of march and its only just got to the dealer,,so over 7months:crazy: going to pick it up saturday,,,well thats if finance docs dont get held up by the posty strike
