Funny that, given they're both straight six turbos. However, as you say the resemblance is uncanny. It's a reasonable sound, certainly something to enjoy over a mundane four pot. Not sure how much I'd want to shout about it though.

I think at the end of the day, whatever sound you get is what your going to get. Its a flat 6 not a V8 and its defiantly not a BMW. With the stock exhaust its VERY quite so my idea was to try and make it louder, Ive accomplished that and I like it, last month I bought my wife a 2021 Porsche Cayman and that sounds incredible for a 2L engine but then again that's a Porsche and mine is a Mercedes Benz (that's like comparing oranges with apples)
Still haven't floored it yet to see if the boost stops working, I will do that tomorrow,

I actually like the sound. Sounds refined. It’s all very personal but I find a lot of the AMGs and V8 M cars sound a bit too comical/over the top with all the pops and bangs etc.

It’s not a flat 6, it’s the usual inline. You’ll need a 911 for a flat 6.

A lot of the newer cars sound similar. V8 AMG is a hard act to follow, IMO. I have a BMW and it’s not a patch on the AMG sound.

I thought it was you on another forum saying that the exhaust was causing problems and that you were getting the original exhaust refitted. Did you resolve this, if so how? Apologies if not you but it was the same model being fitted with a titanium exhaust.

Yes Im the same guy. I have reinstalled the titanium exhaust and plan to take it for a test drive today on the highway and see if the boost issues come back........I will post up later today what happens

In all seriousness though, my AMG V8 doesn't have or need pops and bangs, but in my opinion sounds WAY better than a 6 cylinder.

All good, I have driven it hard, accelerated as hard as the car will let me and no more boost issues, no idea why I was having all those issues before but there gone and hopefully they stay gone..............I love the sound of my car now and happy that I stuck with it to try and get it to work.
