MB Enthusiast
I got the itch….
Not sure why as I was still happy with my E350CGI coupe, but it seems after four and half years I developed a wandering eye
Tried a few alternatives, but couldn’t find anything I liked and that suited me as much as the E coupe……
So, I bought another one
Picked it up Friday morning.
It’s newer (facelifted), has more toys, is a more distinct colour, has the same excellent M276 3.5L engine. Only this time it has a twin turbo attached – it’s the E400 Coupe 2016, 47k miles
Twelve London Road near Woking (nice bunch, nice premises, and stock list) offered me top trade in (beating all but one offer from Carwow dealers) and provided it in top notch condition. I wanted it done quickly, so I didn’t consider offering it up privately or on here.
Contact the garage above if you want a very good, 12 reg, MBS Southampton maintained, V6 petrol coupe with the 'cappuccino' brown leather interior - they have just listed it
I have (probably) paid top dollar, but I wanted it and the cost to change was okay.
It’s been owned by an enthusiast (not on here I believe), full MB then specialist service, ATF done, infamous NOX sensor done, immaculate inside and excellent condition outside. It came with a new set of Dunlop Winters on it so the dealer swapped them out and let me have them (they will be on here in the Autumn as I don’t want them)
I have broken a few personal rules in getting it but a financial window opened up that would vanish soon and, as I said, I had the itch....
(sorry photos are big, but I could not upload and create a media library!)
It’s different, but familiar
Blue stitching on the black nappa is nice, the upgraded Comand is good (maps being downloaded from SatNavishop as I type) Android Auto and Apple is handy, reversing camera, keyless go, the HK audio, 'that clock' and some silver / chrome bling (which I like, even though some may not)
Oh, and 30% more torque!
I don’t think a remap is needed for me, but the figures out there on this under mapped engine are as impressive as they are scary (333bhp to 420bhp and torque up to 650NM – which is stock C63!)
Hopefully this will keep me away from Autotrader for a long while
