New user - just purchased an SL55!

Looks great - one of the finest car rses ever IMO.

Totally agree. Absolutely beautiful from all angles but rear 3/4 maybe the best. Or maybe the view from the rear as it lays sticky 11's ;-)

And then there's the noise....even as standard it's bombastic.

That's one of my ultimate cars.

One day I really really really want to run a 55K.

Thanks :) I'm fortunate enough that this is my 2nd 55K (E55 back in 2006).

If any of you are interested in my comparison between the SL and my 997 turbo, check :

I hope I've not broken any rules by linking that.

When I bought mine, a 54 SL55 was £10k more and I just couldn't justify it.

I would have loved one though - I took a shine to them in early 2002 when I lived in Herts and often saw a black one.

Just glad they shoved the same engine in something else!

Quite the same reason I got the E55 back in 2006 - SL's were about £20k more!

Still my favourite engine, and I've driven numerous impressive machines!

Any update on the doorcard, Vinnie? I have a broken clip in one of mine, and the side pockets could be tighter...

I'm in Letchworth - if you're close by it would be fun to have a meetup. I may take mine down to Eurocharged one day - feels fast enough to me at the moment though :)

Essel, sorry for not replying, I kind of forgot about this thread!

The car was unfortunately written off about 4-5 months ago when parked in a side street in Richmond and a rare high tide caused the thames to flood.

Now in an Aston so won't be posting on here for a while :(

Sold the salvage to a chap wanting to fix it up so hopefully L55 SSP will live again!
