Hey guys

Newbie here from Birmingham. Just ordered a GLE 250 amg night edition. It’s on a 2 year lease on a 9 + 23 but a good deal was too hard to pass up on.

Admittedly it wasn’t a car that I initially invisaged going in to as I considered changing from my 2016 golf R.

I was initially looking at a used x5 m sport but like I say this was too good to say no.

I take delivery end of August and I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel.

i'm currently thinking of going the opposite way and looking at a GTI or R.

What's your experience of your R? Happy with it?

I love the MK7 GTI/GTD/R.

Understated and has the right amount of power. So well specd as standard. You get a lot for your money when compared to the equivalent BMW or Audi.

The facelift looks good too. Can’t go wrong to be honest.

I’m only switching as two kids = need for space.

What are the GLEs like on a day to day basis.

Great cars. You’ll love it, I’m sure. Like any full size SUV, it’s a great family car. They’re towards the end of their production run now though, so won’t quite be a match for say the latest generation Cayenne, but the price will reflect that too.

I’ve asked a few questions of the broker as I’m expecting free delivery and also wanted to know servicing wise are the Cars generally put on long life service intervals i.e 20k miles or 2 years and if it’s worth paying the £33 a month for an extra service plan or just pay it up front as and when it arrives.

Do you happen to know where/how I can find out what model year the car will be. It’s been assigned an 18 plate but I’ve got a feeling that they were all Model Year 17 cars hence why they were so cheap.

Don’t fret which MY it is. It’s a brand new car car. A brand new posh car. And it was cheap, but we won’t tell anyone if you won’t. So get on and enjoy your new car.

It’s probably cheap because the all new model comes out later this year.

How cheap, if you don’t mind me asking? No problem if you’d rather not say.

Initially the deal was 9+23 at 359.99 (inc) but only one year road tax and delivery by 31 July. Missed it but they sourced a new deal at 375 (inc) with two years Road Tax and delivery at end of August. Which is better for me as my golf is due back to alphabet. First week of sept.

It works out to 22% of RRP. The guy at MB Birmingham said he pays more for a staff car for his Mrs.

That’s great value
