Hi.

New to MB ownership.

Was leaving my daughter back to uni in Chester and bought a copy of Autotrader, flicking through I spotted an absolute minter of a C180 auto estate for sale in Wilmslow, being only 40 miles up the road I borrowed my daughter's little Picanto and went up there.

Fell in love with the car and had to have it, perfect for taking the dog out and giving me a bit of luxury at weekends instead of tarting about in my Pug 207 driving school car.

Went back and got my daughter and drove the car away same day.

There then followed an eight hour drive to Cairnryan to get the boat home, normally do it in six but the conditions on Tuesday were atrocious with blizzards, blocked roads and jacknifed lorries, driving on packed ice on the M6 was a new experience, especially since I aint used to RWD.

So there we are, proud Merc owner :bannana:

Welcome from another relative newbie, and good choice of car. The spontaneous descions are always the best ones!! Sounds like a rough journey but you must have known the Mercedes would keep you safe and got you home, even with rwd :)

Welcome David. Just loved the way you bought your Mercedes and threw in a hairy trip back home.

Quite a few members in Northern Ireland. Last time they had a meeting I think they went round Issac Agnew's workshop in Belfast.

Welcome again.

Hi David, and welcome to the forum, I'm just up the road from you in dromara so if I can be of any help just ask.

..Steve

Thanks again for the welcome. Have a lot of family in Kinallen Sparky, that's fairly close to you isn't it?

Took her out last night for a run, took forever getting the windows de-iced and roads quite poor, first run since the drive from Chester.

Really pleasant car to drive. Have to read the manual though, find out how everything works!
