Just wondered if anybody here is considering selling their W124 Convertible at all, in the near future?

I've seen some nice ones on the internet, but they all seem to be 200 miles away from me. I'm in Cheshire.

Ideally, it would be
5 speed
not high miles
rust free/nice paint
mechanically sound
plenty of history
Cruise control

I know, I'm not after much!!

Thanks in advance if anyone has anything of possible interest.

Nick

Thanks for that Dinoy. Just checked the eBay listing, it's a classified ad of £4995, but mentions bidding in the description.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the links. That silver one is a peach, liking that!

No air con though, yes you need it, nothing worse than sitting in a convertible on a hot summers day no clouds and the roof down. You really do need a bit of cloud cover these days.

Sounds like it could be a lovely car, especially at that price off the forecourt. Being the 320 engine, be aware you have the potential of wiring loom issues and a weepy head gasket, but I would prefer a 320 over a 220 for driving pleasure.

As for air con, I would say you can manage well without, as with the roof up, you have a pillarless coupé, effectively. As the previous owner of mine said: "If it gets hot, I put the roof down, if it gets cold, I put it back up!"

Just as a quick side issue what tyres do you have on the A124 MD5, and are you happy with the comfort, not too hard, not too loud...?

I reverted back to standard 15" 8 hole alloys a few years ago, but can't remember the size, off hand. I've used Continentals for years, without problems.

nick73. Bit of a thread resurrection, but I have a 93 320 CE cabrio which I'm thinking of selling.

It has 120k miles, is 4 speed, and does not have cruise, so it won't tick all of your boxes, but the paintwork is immaculate - and I genuinely mean immaculate - and it had a top end engine rebuild shortly before I bought it so is mechanically superb.

Loads of history, great colour and everything works as it should. I've yet to write an ad, but if you're still looking and it might be of interest, let me know and you can have first dibs.
