No pre-wiring AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Help !!!

OK, now got the optic fibre lead and the power leads - problem is there is a plug socket on teh power lead and I can see where that goes on the CDC, but the other end there is a blue a black and a brown wire, that I need to place in the correct place in a loom to go into the back of the HU. Anyone tell me what popsitions each of these wires needs to go into ? If not, there are statistically 6 different ways these wires can go in to the centre piece of the loom, so will I bugger anything up by trial and error ?

Finally, shoudl I just take this to MB and ask for one of the electronic wizards just to tell me the wiring position ?

Please help ! I really want this all finished today.

Cheers

Stuart

The Blue wire is the fibre optic wake-up signal.
The brown is the CDC -ve
The black is the CDC +ve

Are you positive that the power wiring is not actually pre installed, I know when I installed my CDC I had to fit the D2B fibre cable but then found the power cable sitting tucked neatly away all pre-installed. Usually makers only make 1 wiring loom & just fold away unused plugs for the lower models.

When I took out my CD player the CDC connections were already connected to the C plug anyway but as I upgraded to command & it doesn't use the C plug I had to purchase an adapter loom that splits it up into C1 & C2 plugs.

Your head units picture looks like just standard A, B & C plugs, C plug having 8 or 10 pins. The wiring diagram posted later shows a unit that has 20 pins in the C1,2,3 section, I think this could land up confusing the situation. Check the wires on your C plug does it have blue, brown, black wires @ it?

Firstly thank you to all of you for your help in this.

I went to local MB yesterday and they told me what wire goes where in the C loom - all working absolutely perfectly now.

Shude - tried out both CDCs and they work fine - only problem is that one of the CD magazines (yours ;)) has 5 plastic carriers rather than 6 so in effect its a 5 CD changer at the moment :D - do you still want it ? Anyone on here got a spare one ?

Is it worth me putting together a "how to" on this or am I doing something that no-one else really cares about anymore ?

Cheers

Stuart
