noise

hi iv just bought a 53 reg c class 180 kompressor and it is making a kind of rubbing noise from the front passenger side wheel jacked car up and when i turn the hub with the wheel off the brake pad seems to be rubbing against the disc,dont know if its meant to be like this or is it a problem with the caliper,any help would be great cheers

Pads down to metal?

no the pads are quite new

does anyone know if the disc is warped would this cause the noise im getting any help would be great before i start buying parts for it,thanks forgot too add it is only at low speeds and gets louder when i brake

You say the pads are new, but what are the discs like? Are they worn and have a large lip around the edge?

has it been sat around for a while? perhaps the caliper is seized?

hi thanks for the reply guys,the discs have a small lip on them i cleaned up the caliper and that seems ok its strange it makes the noise more when i turn right,will try and get new discs and try that as its driving me mad

Wheel bearing loose or worn out.

hi i dont know if its the wheel bearing or not,is it the same way to check ie check for play etc?
