Noisy Fan

Hi the heating fan on my 2001 W203 has started hissing! It only makes the noise when the fan is at low speeds and goes if the fan speed is 3 or higher. Anyone got any ideas what it could be and if the fan's busted is it easy to change or should I advertise my kidney on e-bay!
