Non Starter Vito Diesel?

Hi Peeps, can anyone help on this matter please, i recently bought a 1999 vito diesel 2.2 as a non starter with a faulty injector stuck in the head.
Ive aquired 4 new injectors, and repaired the rocker cover, replaced them all and fitted a few basic parts back onto the engine so i can try and fire her up? but to no avail, she just wont fire.
There is a dach light on EDC, i dont know what this means (if anyone can educate me) and is it related to the non starting?
I was told that the injectors have to be sychronised (fair enough) but i would have thought it would at least try and fire or run in limp mode.
I dont want to go spending money on diagnostics unless im 100% it is a running engine?
If any of you can please advise me on my next move, i would be greatly thankful.

Thanks for the credit Brian.

The EDC light is telling you there is a problem with the Electronic Diesel Control. For the dash light to be on the problem must be more than the sytem can handle and just drop into limp home.

With a CR diesel the most common problems are either knackered pump or the pressure switch that detects rail pressure.

I'm not sure on the CDi but usually CR fuel systems have an electric lift pump to feed the fuel to the main pump so check that is pressurising.

A typical range of sensor is going to be engine rotation sensor, fuel pressure sensor, MAF, boost pressure, accelerator position.

The rotation and low pressure sensors will bring on the EDC light.

Make sure there is diesel actually getting into the rail and upto the injectors.

WARNING!!
The diesel is under very high pressure, 1200 Bar, if you crack off any unions ensure they are covered with a cloth to catch spray.
Diesel at this pressure will penetrate skin and can be lethal!!!

You can manually trigger the injectors with 12v to test them and you can check the trigger voltage with noid lights or LEDs.
