Hi guys,

I have a 2003 w203 C270 Cdi.

The car was driving fine until recently it started to slowly breakdown while driving.

Now the car won't start at all. The car won't even crank.

I took it to a mechanic and he said he couldn't read any codes.

He suspects it to be a faulty ECU and then showed me the rear SAM Unit. One of the fuses had blown and burn some of the plastic.

Does a SAM unit from the rear stop the car starting?

He also says these cars are prone to water damage esp the ECU.

Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks

look inside the front SAM box where the ECU is located for water .. pull ECU out , inspect it for water and also look in the plastic casing see if there is any water ..

had a problem with mine and was due to water ingress into the front SAM box and ECU itself ... i took mine out and took it in house left it near radiator for 9 hours till it was dry then emptied water out of front SAM box... my car is now running perfect

hope this helps
