Hi our 1999 280cdi cut out on the motorway and now wont start at all. believe we are still getting fuel through. have done diagnostics no faults found. now totally stumped. Any ideas all help greatly received.

Could be a multitude of things mate???

You say you have done diagnostics? Was this on the dash or using Computer plugged to ECU?

My guess would be fuel starvation or air lock in fuel line, but who knows without the car in a garage???

used a sagem edigital no faults found also used a snapon scanne agai no faults found. If you give a sniff of easy start it will try to fire

Then it isn't getting fuel.

Is there any smoke when turning the engine over, or a smell of unburned diesel from the exhaust?
