The only guy doing Mercs at what is now Zeemax is still the same guy that was useless at millennium!
Their tech is not Merc trained, very basic knowledge and useless on the Star!
would not trust them based on my experiences and opinion, they're just all wrong there it seems. shame :(

Use Merctechnics (post 20 above).
He's a good bloke and knows his stuff. And not far from you if you're in Fakenham.

Need to exchange email addresses, but I don't think you can PM yet as you've too few posts.

I've just skimmed this thread and I'm surprised no-one has mentioned or recommended Derrick Wells. He's in that area - well, Needham Market is in Suffolk, but it isn't hard to reach. All the guys there know their stuff and do a good job.

Your comments are totally wrong and entirely misleading.
Come in and see me.

Derik Wells Needham Market

I have used Derek Wells on many occassions and always found them to be very good and their prices are good as well They are certainly helpful

My experiences with Indies in Norfolk is very different from some of yours on here. I tried Autotechnic of Loddon and they couldn't even be bothered to return my call when I asked for a quote for work.

I've since been to Millenium while Richard was there and had the car worked on to my satisfaction. Then the "Fat Man" arrived with his tart of a son and the workmanship was poor. The young lad worked on my car and cracked the switches around the gearstick. Not good.

Then I went to see them and the "Fat Man" was no more and I have had nothing but brilliant service from the guys there. I will take my car to no other garage.

Just picked up my car from Autotechnic at Loddon, Norfolk, after a big service with lots of extras done. Absolutely delighted with their standard of service. The cost must be less than a main MB dealer, and even if not I get the feeling that they take a real interest and look at my car with the same concern that I do, in other words they give it some TLC. The loan car I had is a testament to older Mercs, an 'S' reg C180K with 123,000 miles, but very clean and runs beautiful, (should that be bootiful!).
IMO you can use Autotechnic with confidence. Tel: 01508 522995, ask for Mark or Simon.
Previous three services were done at Millenium because they are much nearer, but when Richard was no longer there, I was pleased to return to Autotechnic. Need I say more!

I've had their M-reg C180 Manual a few times, plus they also used to run a 190E 2.0 auto and a 190E 1.8 manual.

I loved those cars, despite being much slower and less well equipped than my own car. Simple, basic cars and a joy to drive these older cars :thumb:

Incidentally Millenium were much closer to me, too. Are you nearer Dereham way? :)

Hi 'mercboiuk', yes I'm closer to Millenium, in Drayton. Its a lot quicker out to the A47 West than to the Lowestoft road via southern bypass, but hopefully it will only be once a year. Pleased to be back with Autotechnic. I did enjoy driving the C180 yesterday, even as you say its less complex, it was auto and had air-con that worked. Probably worth less than £1500, but what a good car compared to the normal family boxes.

OK, maybe we'll see each other, but which of your cars do I keep an eye out for? I seem to visit the Dixon centre a fair bit. You won't sse me around for a couple of weeks, off to Italy on Monday - driving there and back.

The Audi or the E320 are my usual chariots, but usually any with a "GEE" numberplate ;)

Enjoy the drive....and Italy! :D :thumb:
