Hi All..
My car is running perfectly.. I have owned it for about 6 months and done about 14000 miles and it hasnt missed a beat !
I mention this because forums can be a bit depressing in that human nature says we ask advice or complain when something is amiss..
So I thought any "guest readers" may be put off by reading all the doom and gloom..
I was worried when I first bought mine because you hear horror stories of massive repair bills and hidden trouble that are waiting to be discovered.
I have nothing but praise for my car.. Its the first auto I have owned since I was 21 years old when I had an old Rover 3500V8 with a Borg Warner 3 speed auto (remember those?)..
The auto box is sublime..Very smooth changing and on the engine I have its surprisingly economical.
Every time I get in the car I cant help feeling just a little bit special.. When you shut the door there is that reasuring "THUNK" as you are cosseted within your tank (I mean car)..
Its only when I ride in other makes of car that I notice just how well put together mercs are..
I love driving and seriously look for any excuse to travel far distances.. Its the most comfortable mile eater I have owned and I think it will be a cold day in July before I consider a different marque.
So to sum up.. I am totally happy with a car that has had to have a rear brake light bulb and 2 rear tyres..
I just hope I havent tempted the gods of sods law to pay me a visit on Sunday!! I live just outside Blackpool and I am traveling to a Merc meetup in Peebles..
I feel an extra good polish tomorrow will be needed just to keep her happy.

Good post man ! And +1 on the gods of sods law .

sspeed, I would echo all you said and add that a huge grin forms on my face each time I settle into the driver's seat.. :) :)

My car might have been much much cheaper and I've had it for a much smaller amount of time but I feel exactly the same about mine :D. I think it's the first car I've truly been happy with!

Simon, if you are happy with your car then all well and good and I am pleased for you. However you would have been more pleased with a W124, the ultimate driving pleasure :thumb::D:devil:

also when reading the threads (this applies to the audi rs246 forum as well) it seems to be the same people with problems, mines on 92k miles and goes like a teenager, its had a few niggles but nothing serious.

Thanks for the post, I'm also pleased today as our W203 went through its MOT with not problems (a couple of advisories but nothing serious) :D

As it get's older I worry when it goes in for any work, it's a bit like waiting for exam results. Amazingly, in the last year we only covered just over 3000 miles in it!

That's approx 2 months for me!!:o :)

Touch wood ........

Had my car for 4 months now (4k miles) and it just works. Get in, smile, start up and drive.

No drama, no worrying about niggly things and pure luxury.

It's a Mercedes after all ........ isn't that what they should do ?

3000miles....I guess I shall be hoping that would be 6 months for me.

mind you, i have driven 0 miles since July.:D

I've been averaging about 2,500 miles a month in the BMW. Since getting it in May with 16 miles on the clock it's now showing 11,000 and I didn't drive it at all in July as we were on holiday for 3 weeks.

The missus drives the W203 most of the time. Mainly taking the little one to nursery & to go shopping :D However, I do make a point to take it out for a proper long run when I can as I hate cars not being used properly.

I'm also been very happy with all my Mercedes, I must admit I do miss the economy of my 3.2 W210 the 6.0 W140 isn't fantastic but I still love it and it's running very well bar a few bits that need doing which isn't unusual for a car of it's age.

I can't wait until next year when I should have enough to get a W211 55 AMG and keep the S600 as a future classic maybe?
