Nox sensor failed after recall

2014 w212 e220. I had my nox sensors replaced and software update by merc under the recall 18 months ago and it appears, one of the sensors has gone again. Would this be covered under warranty as they are saying it's not covered as it was a recall and not a customer purchase. Codes..p229F09. Also getting a code p13F600 and P1BC300.

All new parts should have a 2 year warranty on them I believe. So go back and tell them that it should be covered under the parts warranty if theyve been replaced
 
I don't think you get the new parts warranty on work that is carried out under warranty.

It wont be covered as you didn't pay for them. Its BS tbh. You probably had the old sensors (non modified) fitted under goodwill, not warranty or re-call. Its a different ball game then. The newest sensors generally don't go wrong twice.
 
The Mercedes document covering the Diesel Recall clearly states that the NOx sensor(s) will be replaced FOC if that is necessary following the voluntary recall. My dealer has recently informed me that new sensors installed during this recall are garanteed 2 years.
 
When I had warranty work done on my S203 the dealership told me that the replacement parts (diff oil seals) were warrantied for 2yrs but if they had to be replaced within that period, the replacement part only carried the remaining warranty of the first replacement.
 
Sorry for the slow response, was on holiday. Information seems conflicting, I would have thought it would have a 2 year warranty but the dealership is saying the same thing regarding it not being covered under warranty as done under recall and not paid by the customer, which I agree sounds like bull. Might look into calling merc corporate to find out more.
 
If your NOx sensors were changed under recall, then they weren't done under guarantee, but at Mercedes request, so in my opinion they should be guaranteed.

The way I see it, you took your car to them with no issues for a recall.

They changed parts during that recall which have shortly failed. So by changing those parts, they've caused the fault and need to rectify it.
