Hi, Will swapping an older NTG 2 with code E66 in a Viano work with the later NTG 2.5.
E66 is a sound system and sub built in, it looks like the sub is just active with its own amp.

It is a 8 system surround sound system with sub and digital amp. Seems it connects on the MOST bus so not likely to work with NTG2.5 as the upgraded NTG1 and NTG2 sound systems dont work with NTG2.5.

Thats what I was worried about, not sure whats in it just have the code E66 and all I can see on wis is that sub and active amp.

Ok Wis is very handy as I learn how to use it.
The amp for all the speakers is next to the sub under the seat, looks like all the quadloc wires go there first then into the amp and then to each speaker.
Probably more to this but I am thinking swap the amp for a 5 channel hi level amp and re wire from there.
I had a useful chat today with the guys at comand on line, Thanks for that.

Ok after talking to Mark I need this kit,
A/B/CLC/ML/GL/R COMAND NTG2.5 (Hard Disk) retrofit kit - cars with phone. | COMAND Retrofit parts | Mercedes Retrofits | Comand Online Ltd
I will order that now.
Had a good look now at the wiring diagram on wis and yes it all goes under the drivers seat, this has to come out and be re-wired with a 5 channel amp like the digital Alpine, 4 in 5 out set up with remote bass control.
What I will do is link the wires to see how it sounds first before buying the amp, I will not have the sub like this.
Them move the amp so you can get at it without taking the seat and base out!

My only worry is the phone as it has the dash mount, my plan is to get power and antenna to that for charging only and it will work bluetooth anyway.
If I can find a new Vito with this nav and phone then I will get the later dash mount for it.
Would this then work with the AUX input from phone to nav?
Also that Linguatronic stalk, that would be great to get working on this, I gave up with the old 120 stalk.

My plan is to get this all in and go down again to comand for custom coding, I am missing fuel remaining.
A chirp on the alarm would be nice and pathway lighting.

Well the NTG2.5 arrived today, a nice 2013 model, I can see one wire is wrong, antenna amp power, I plugged it in to see what works and all good, the amp is not on any fibber link, it switches on auto, must have power sensing switch, anyway all good, channels are right and fader works as it should, Very pleased, did not need to enter and pin as yet.
Pulled it out for now until the antenna adapter and bluetooth antenna arrives and the mic adapter, might as well fit the camera adapter well its out.

Well all done and working
Sound is better than ever before, not sure whats in E66 but its good! and the fact in needs no extra work the the upgrade is just a bonus.
Just need to find what map is installed now?

Thanks for that

V4 maps on a 2013 made unit, weird. Or did you mean the unit is from a 2013 vehicle? Anyhow the maps are old, V9 is the latest.

Yes it has 2013 date label on the unit, so must be from a 2013 vehicle.
Never needed to add the pin code?
My invoice does say its registered against my vin.
