14F400 signal from oxygen sensor is shifted towards rich

14D600 the signal line of the oxygen sensor and the electrical heater circuit have a short to each other

Oxygen sensor 1 Cylinder bank 1

I have the engine light on and a couple of codes in history - never current, always history.
If I reset them, they will come back in under 500 miles.

This started after it came out of Mercedes for the 3rd time for wheel alignment when they had done the subframe so I guess it's just a coincidence..

Car is at 120k, runs fine, fuel economy seems ok, did 54mpg on a 300 mile run yesterday.

Would this just be the sensor itself ?

I changed mine once on a om642 CLS .

it made little to zero difference tbh. Purely there for emmisions and fuelling . My OCD had me change it . 🤣🤣

Do you still have it...the old sensor ?

I would have, you said there was nothing wrong with it...was it an easy job ?

It was knackered m8. Hence why I changed it.

Yes , you chop the old wires after unplugging it , so you can get a ring spanner onto the end . They're all different, you'll need one that matches yours. 👍

Might have to go to an Indy, can't find any info online on this, must be the first !
Any idea where the sensor is located, would it have anything to do with a rear subframe replacement?

Codes are from an icarsoft, P codes are P2196 and P2231

Edit it is near on £400 for a sensor from mercedes but they won't give me the part number..

In the exhaust pipe ,pretty much inline with the front wheels .

I paid £90 iirc for a Bosch sensor on eBay , think it was a 5 wire sensor , but do check yours.

Thanks for that, any where I can find the MB part number to match

Look down the page on here . Or run your vin on 7zap and find it . 👍

I found one on europarts but don't know if it is correct as another site gives totally different info.

What's the 7zap - googling just gives loads of different pages that either don't work, want to load an app game or just full of advertising banners and nothing else ?

Do you have a working link - could be interesting....

Cheers, not sure, must be reading it wrong, shows 3 lambda part numbers and a single exhaust only for the 6 cylinder diesel

Only 1 in a diesel.

Yes, but shows 3 part numbers for the same one and the wrong exhaust entirely ?

Are they just updated part numbers ?

Found the part, and ordered, hopefully will cure the fault.
The diagrams / part numbers on 7zap are wrong

Is this yours ?

That looks more like it, I have part number ending 718 or 918 ?
I haven't looked to see where it is accessed from, under the car or at the back of the engine ?

That's option M014 extra engine power output . It's basically a sports exhaust system.

The sensor on my CLS om642 was in the exhaust pipe area behind the front wheels . It's probably 580 in that picture.

Missing page from 7zap as shown.
