Would these fit a 98 W202 Esprit (factory lowered):

Front: 225/40/18
Rear: 255/35/18
With an offset of 30 and alloy width of 8.5J all round.

I know the tyre sizes would fit... But will the offset and J fit without modification? And if not, what mods would need to be done?

Thanks guys.

8.5" wide rims with 225 section tyres will give you about zero rim protection! ;)

Well ok, not zero - but very very little.

225s on an 8" rim is precarius IMHO. :)

So... It's not such a good idea? Will they fit though? What sort of rim protection, or lack thereof are we talking about here?

Don't get me wrong - it may well be an 'acceptable' fitment for a 225 tyre, just IMHO you leave quite a lot of exposed rim that is vulnerable to curbing.

I suppose the clever answer is to park carefully, but in reality I would personally be paranoid of ruining the wheels!

As a comparison, standard C36/C43 17" AMGs are 7.5J on the front, with a 225 section tyre. Look at how many of these are scratched/curbed beyond all recognition (just look on eBay or anywhere! ;) )

So, would probably fit, but I would personally prefer a slightly narrower rim with a 225 tyre. :)

Will
