Oil in coolant and coming from back of engine?

Find a specialist that has a fluid exchange machine. If the gearbox has any chance of being recovered, you need one of these. They are connected in series with the cooler pipes to the radiator and, after an initial fluid and filter change and with the engine running, the contaminated fluid is replaced with fresh fluid. It may cost a bit and the specialist will make no promises, but it may be cheaper than a replacement transmission.

As per posts ~ 7, 10, 11 and 14 ......
I cannot believe that your transmission will not be ruined beyond economic repair.
I would not throw more money at it.

Regarding your coolant ...
Modern engines require a coolant that is approx 50% glycol-based anti-freeze and 50% water ...... SUMMER and WINTER.
This not only gives protection against freezing in winter, but also increases the boiling point of the coolant mixture in summer.
The coolant in your car is pressurized - The pressure cap on the coolant/expansion bottle ensures this.
The pressurization + the 50% glycol mix prevent the coolant from boiling on hot days and/or heavy engine loading.
BOTH are essential for your cooling system to function correctly in summer.
These general principals apply to most internal-combustion vehicle engines ...... Certainly to all cars that I have ever owned.

Another thought ....
The glycol-based anti-freeze usually contains corrosion inhibitors.
In all reputable vehicle anti-freeze, these are usually long-life and will protect your rad and your engine from corrosion-attack.

That vid is post #11 is a masterpiece.
The guy who made it ...... Respect to him !!

As the other posts say. I would advise against trying to flush it etc. You will be down the cost of the new radiator etc and the box still won't be right.
Friction material swells in the presence of glycol/coolant. Its going to have destroyed all of those. The TC will likely give horrible vibrations along with a list of other issues.

We have an S55 in the workshop ATM with a failed radiator that has dumped all of the coolant into the gearbox. It's so bad that the gearbox has locked up. We are replacing the radiator, new lines and replacing the gearbox and TC with a good used unit. I will warrant the work without those things.

If there was already coolant in when the water pump was changed, then a top up with water means there's still coolant in there.

Is this a forum where helpful advice is given (everyone else has been great) or one of those places where people point and laugh at people?
god knows why coolant was ever invented.

Using water instead of coolant (as the name suggests) cools better than water.

Coolant also contains anti corrosives - water and metal dont go well together.

Perhaps some research before spannering - cutting corners alway bites back..

That makes no sense....
