Oil Leak.

Car has just developed a bad oil leak, seems to be coming from above the steering rack and below the fuel filter, near side. Car is C Class 64 plate Bluetec Automatic W205 Diesel 0M 651 engine. Is this a common fault with these engines ? I am just wondering where to look. So could do with some advice. Many thanks in advance.

Sometimes Oil filter Housing, Oil filters can leak ?
Oil Cooler and lines and sometimes there could be a leak from the Rocker cover.

Clean it all off with brake cleaner, the buy some uv oil dye, when it’s leaked again, you will be able to see where it’s coming from, using a uv lamp, which can be supplied with the dye.

Hi Plopy, I discovered it was the "O" ring in the oil filter housing, replaced it and everything is just fine now.
