Just had my 2021 GLE 350d serviced 2 weeks ago by Mercedes West London and they found/showed in health report video 3 separate leaks, 2 oil and 1 apparently fuel/water (Merc mechanics didn't even know at that point). The car is out of warranty (8th January this year).
I did mention on many previous visits (during warranty) to the dealer about the engine's thirst for oil amongst other issues, approx 1 litre every 1500-2000 miles. Was told that these new 3 litre diesel engines breathe a lot and this is normal.
Now there are leaks, at the front and somewhere further back. Nothing on the ground, all in the covers.
The car itself is great to look at and generally drive.
Not so happy with various issues til now (all covered under warranty), including new headlight due to condensation, rear light cluster due to indicator failure, two rear door control units due to windows dropping occasionally an inch or so (one side still dodgy), now there's condensation on the other headlight, when traversing our infamous potholes there's a clunking sound from below...
What are Mercedes building nowadays and with what and by whom??
Any ideas regarding these leaks, hopefully not expensive... Ha!

Oil leaks usually camcover gasket leaking from what I've dealt with previously. But investigation would definitely be advised.

So, had a chance to mull things over and have decided to change the GLE in favour of the new model Lexus 450h+ plug in hybrid. Although the Merc’s design, aesthetics and space are wonderful, the somewhat questionable quality here and there and reliability issues are a niggle and expense I wasn’t quite prepared for in a 2-3 year old car. Shame. Thought about the new GLE hybrid briefly and dismissed it almost immediately due to the above.
Happy motoring!

Great upgrade, it'll outlast majority of German brand that's first sure 👍

Probably best to get shot of it , although I do feel sorry for the next mug who buys it . Let's hope he/she/it gets a decent used car warranty with it.
